Sourena was born in 2008 at the Robotic Research Laboratory of CEIT Dept. at Amirkabir University of Technology. The name is taken from an Iranian army leader in Parthian era.

In RoboCup 2008 in Suzhou, Sourena reached the finals and got the fifth place in the @home league.

 

Its main abilities are:

· Navigation and Obstacle Avoidance

· Automatic Map Generation and Self-localization

· Speech Recognition and Synthesizing

· Human Face Recognition

· Object Recognition

· Object Manipulation
