VoIP Processor Group
In this project we involved novel aspects of SoC, SW/HW co-design and Reconfigurable Architecture. In our project, we developed a MIPS-like processors boosted with a programmable coprocessor beside the main pipeline and an Application Specific Extension (ASE) instruction set to perform required compute-intensive VoCoding algorithms as fast as possible. In addition we have designed a general purpuse embedded processor, named TMIPS, to run RTOS and protocol stack (Formerly, we were using LOEN2 processor). Beside the mentioned embedded processors, we have other hardware modules, such as MAC, Frame buffer and PCI which all of them are connected by a communication network based on AMBA AHB from ARM. We have used several FPGAs during our development and design phase for prototyping. In the first fabrication, we plan only for 8 voice channel. Our processor can be used in residential gateways. This project is directed by Dr. Mehdi Sedighi.

At the moment, I am engaged with
- porting eCos on TMIPS,
- Setting up an IP-trunk on-line demo to verify the VoIP processor (DONE).
- Post synthesis simulation and Regression Test.
